On January 13, 2016, the California Energy Commission (CEC) approved a $2.1 M Proposition 39 award for Saugus Union School District. CEC review and approval took only 13 days from time of application submission. Funds to be used towards HVAC replacements, LED lighting, and wireless building controls. PacificWest Energy Solutions performed the ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit and energy expenditure plan submission to the CEC. Next phase services will include engineering design, procurement assistance, and measurement & verification reporting services.
On January 12, 2016, the School Board at Downey Unified School District approved a solar photovoltaic consulting services contract with PacificWest. Previous services provided by PacificWest included solar feasibility studies, utility rate analysis, field surveys, and RFP coordination. New scope of services to include procurement assistance, contract negotiations, and technical design review of a power purchase agreement project estimated at 4 MW of clean renewable solar power providing over $7 M in energy savings over 20 years.
On December 15, 2015, the School Board at Westside Union School District unanimously approved a third phase of Proposition 39 services with PacificWest. Scope of services to include engineering design, bid procurement, construction support, and measurement & verification reporting services. Once completed, the project is anticipated to save the District $90,000 annually in energy costs.
On December 10th, 2015, Colton Joint Unified School District was awarded $5.5 M by California Energy Commission (CEC) in Proposition 39 Funding as one of the largest awards to date. Funds to be used for HVAC, lighting and building controls upgrades. Colton Joint Unified School District spans over 33 sites and 2.2 Million square feet. The District anticipates $380,000 per year in energy savings. PacificWest Energy Solutions performed the energy audit and successful energy expenditure plan submission to the CEC.
